Thomas Kinkade Seascape Paintings

The every changing nature of the sea is depicted in the Seascapes series by Thomas Kinkade. Some pictures revel in the power and majesty of the sea. Other seascape images show the sea as a tranquil body of water that promises travelers safe passage and a pleasant journey.

The great contradiction of the Seascapes series is that they somehow manage to be both awe inspiring and intimate at the same time. The sea and sky seem to go on forever in these pictures while objects closer to the viewer draw them into the scene. The images explore the idea of communing with nature, even if we are no where near the source of the inspiration for the pictures.
